Twenty more positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in New Brunswick on Saturday.
This brings the total number of active confirmed cases to 57, with three of those cases in hospital and one in intensive-care.
New Brunswick’s public health office said 12 cases are in the Moncton region and seven are in the Campbellton area. There is also one case in the Fredericton area related to travel outside the Atantic bubble.
The public health office also confirmed a case at Académie Notre-Dame in Dalhousie. While the school community has been informed, decisions about how learning may be impacted haven’t yet been made as contact tracing continues.
This comes after the province temporarily close Sugarloaf High School in Campbellton after a positive case was confirmed there earlier in the week.
Zone 1 in the Moncton area and Zone 5 in the Campbellton region remain at level orange, which means some restrictions are being reinstated to reduce the likelihood of COVID-19 spreading. The rest of the province remains at the yellow level.
As of Thursday, masks are also mandatory in indoor public spaces and changes were made to travel restrictions at the Quebec border.
