Quebec reported 79 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the cumulative total of infections in the province to 55,863 since the pandemic began.
One person died of the disease in the past 24 hours. Seven deaths that occurred before June 27 were also added to the official total, which now stands at 5,574.
There were four fewer people hospitalized on Sunday than on Saturday, for a total of 371. Of those, 26 were in iintensive care, a decrease of one.
