Regina city council has appointed Chad Jedlic as the city’s next city manager, effective Jan. 4, 2027, the City of Regina said Oct. 28.
Jedlic, who currently serves as the city’s director of land, real estate and economic development, will head the administration and be accountable to council. The city said he will oversee municipal services and lead about 3,000 city employees.
“Council is pleased to appoint Chad Jedlic as Regina’s next City Manager,” Mayor Chad Bachynski said in the release. He described Jedlic as “a talented, thoughtful, logical and respected leader” with a strong record of collaboration and delivering results.
Jedlic joined the city in 2021. Before that, the city said, he was vice-president of development with Forster Harvard Development Corp. and spent more than a decade in senior development and property management roles with Harvard Developments. He holds a master of business administration and a bachelor of science.
The city said he has led land development, real estate, business attraction and strategic growth projects, and has worked with municipal councils, private-sector investors and community leaders. He has also held volunteer and board roles with the Regina & Region Home Builders’ Association, the Regina Rowing Club and the Cathedral Village Arts Festival.
“It is an honour to be selected as Regina’s next City Manager,” Jedlic said. He said he is committed to working with council, city employees, community partners, businesses and residents to advance shared priorities.
Council also thanked Jim Nicol, who has served as acting city manager for the past year and a half, for his leadership.
The appointment comes as the city handles a heavy housing and construction agenda. Regina recently marked the end of its 11th Avenue revitalization project, finished on time and under budget, and the city’s second annual housing conference sold out this week.
