It looks like Brett Kulak will be sticking around in Denver for the long-haul.
Kulak signed a five-year contract extension that will see the defenceman signed through the 2030-31 season, the Colorado Avalanche announced on Friday.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, his new deal comes at a cap hit of $4.5 million per season.
Kulak was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 before the announcement of this extension.
The 32-year-old was acquired by the Avalanche in February from the Pittsburgh Penguins after he was first flipped by the Edmonton Oilers earlier that season.
In 27 games this season with Colorado, Kulak tallied three assists. He scored a goal and assisted on four more during the Avalanche’s 13-game playoff run.
