Laptop cameras are still weak in dim rooms, and a separate USB webcam is one of the cheapest upgrades for remote work, online classes and calls with family. This guide covers five webcams that Amazon.ca sells and ships directly, priced from $34.99 to $249.99. We left out webcams that appear only through third-party sellers, even when the price looked lower.

Logitech Brio 101
The Brio 101 is the pick for students, new remote workers and anyone who wants a clear picture without spending much. The listing describes Full HD 1080p video, a RightLight feature that Logitech says brightens the image by up to 50 per cent compared with its earlier webcams, a built-in microphone and a slide-over privacy cover. It is plug and play with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, and the listing says it works with Nintendo Switch 2 GameChat. Amazon.ca sells and ships it, and the listing showed a limited-time deal that cut the price from $59.99 to $34.99. Skip it if you need a wider view, 60 frames per second or a sharper image than 1080p. Price: $34.99 as of Oct. 27, 2026. Rating: 4.4 out of 5 from 7,990 ratings.

Logitech C920x HD Pro
The C920x is the long-running favourite for people who want a proven camera for daily work calls. The listing shows Full HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second, stereo audio from dual microphones and Logitech Capture software for recording. It also comes with a three-month XSplit VCam licence. The listing notes that this model has no privacy shutter, so buyers who want one will need a cover or the Brio 101. Amazon.ca sells it directly at $79.99, down from a list price of $99.99, and it holds the best rating among the mainstream picks here, from more than 3,600 ratings. Skip it if you want a built-in cover or the lowest price. Price: $79.99 as of Oct. 27, 2026. Rating: 4.6 out of 5 from 3,643 ratings.

Razer Kiyo V2 X
The Razer Kiyo V2 X is for gamers and streamers who want smoother motion than a standard 30 fps webcam. The listing title advertises 1440p video at 60 frames per second, and it is aimed at both streaming and meetings. Amazon.ca sells it at $117.98, down from a list price of $139.99. The catch is the small number of ratings: 196 people have rated it, so the 4.4 average is less settled than Logitech’s. A 1440p image also needs enough bandwidth and a capable computer, and many video call apps will compress it anyway. Skip it if your calls are mostly Zoom or Teams meetings, where a cheaper Full HD camera looks much the same. Price: $117.98 as of Oct. 27, 2026. Rating: 4.4 out of 5 from 196 ratings.

Logitech StreamCam
The StreamCam is the choice for content creators and anyone who moves around on camera. The listing describes Full HD 1080p video at 60 frames per second, a glass lens with smart auto-focus, and auto-framing that keeps you centred as you move. It is built for streaming software such as Twitch and YouTube tools, and it works with Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. Amazon.ca sells it at $139.99, down from $199.99 on a limited-time deal, and 1,393 people have rated it. At that price it costs well above the C920x, so only buy it if you will use the 60 fps video or the auto-framing. Price: $139.99 as of Oct. 27, 2026. Rating: 4.4 out of 5 from 1,393 ratings.

Logitech MX Brio
The MX Brio is for professionals who spend hours a day on camera and want the best image in this group. The listing describes Ultra HD 4K video at 30 frames per second or 1080p at 60 frames per second, AI-enhanced image quality in difficult light, adjustable image controls and dual beamforming noise-reducing microphones. Amazon.ca sells the Graphite model at $249.99, down from a list price of $299.99, and it is rated 4.5 from 1,184 ratings. It is the most expensive webcam here by a wide margin, and most video call services do not send full 4K to the other person. Skip it unless you record content or want the best low-light performance. Price: $249.99 as of Oct. 27, 2026. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 from 1,184 ratings.

How to choose a webcam in Canada
Start with how you use it. For work meetings and online classes, 1080p at 30 frames per second is plenty, and the Brio 101 or C920x will do the job. Pay extra for 60 frames per second only if you stream or play games on camera, and for 4K only if you record video you will edit later. Most meeting apps compress the picture, so a cheaper camera in a well-lit room often beats an expensive one in a dark room.
Next, think about privacy and sound. A built-in cover, like the one on the Brio 101, is the simplest way to be sure the camera is off. If your laptop microphone is poor, consider a separate microphone, and pair the camera with a good pair of earbuds. If you work from home, our guides to 4K monitors, laptops and mesh Wi-Fi systems cover the rest of the setup, and a wired or strong Wi-Fi connection matters as much as the camera. Buying from Amazon.ca directly means the return and warranty process runs through a Canadian seller. Prices on webcams often drop around Black Friday on Nov. 27, so watch the listings if you can wait. Browse more picks on our Amazon Picks Canada page.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 4K webcam for video calls?
No. Most video call apps compress video, so a 1080p webcam looks very similar to a 4K one on a typical call. 4K matters mainly if you record or edit video.
Does a better webcam help in a dark room?
A little, but lighting matters more. A lamp in front of you helps more than most upgrades, and cameras with light correction, such as the Brio 101, can brighten the picture further.
Do these webcams have a microphone?
The Brio 101 has a built-in microphone, the C920x has stereo audio from dual microphones and the MX Brio has dual noise-reducing microphones, according to their Amazon.ca listings. Check each listing for the model you choose.
Which webcam has a privacy cover?
The Brio 101 listing says it has an integrated slide cover. The C920x listing says its model has no privacy shutter.
Are these prices final?
No. The prices were taken from the live Amazon.ca listings on Oct. 27, 2026, and Amazon can change them at any time.
