“It was definitely a tough night,” Canadiens centre Nick Suzuki said. “Definitely my worst game of the year, so far.”
When the Canadiens did get chances on net, Matt Murray proved to be a problem for the Canadiens. He only allowed two goals on 38 shots. It’s a disappointing output from a league-leading offence that averages over four goals a game, coming up against a goalie with a 4.82 goals-against average.
“(Murray) had a good game,” Suzuki added. “We saw a lot of him in the Pittsburgh, obviously, in last (year’s) playoffs. I think he made a lot of good saves. We definitely had our chances. It’s just up to us to put them behind him,”
To sum it up: the Canadiens lost a stinker. They lost a game where the game didn’t always flow their way, against a team they were favoured to beat.
