Premier Jason Kenney and chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw are scheduled to speak alongside three members of cabinet at Tuesday’s COVID-19 briefing, as Alberta prepares to begin vaccinations later in the afternoon.

Municipal Affairs Minister Tracy Allard, Justice Minister Kaycee Madu and Community and Social Services Minister Rajan Sawhney are expected to be part of the briefing.
Half an hour later, the first COVID-19 vaccine doses in Alberta will be administered, starting with health-care workers in Calgary and Edmonton, according to the premier.
The shipment of 3,900 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses arrived by plane in Calgary around 5 p.m. on Monday.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine must be stored at ultra-cold temperatures. Doses are being stored in freezers at designated sites in Calgary and Edmonton.
The province will receive 25,350 additional doses next week, it announced Monday.
