Northumberland Hills Hospital’s Enteric outbreak has extended to Inpatient Rehabilitation and they’re now reporting a COVID-19 outbreak in Restorative Care.
The outbreak, affecting a cluster of patients and staff on the Restorative Care unit reported earlier has spread to Inpatient Rehabilitation and several positive COVID-19 inpatient cases have been confirmed in Restorative Care.
Visitor restrictions have been placed on both units with new admissions to Restorative Care and Inpatient Rehab being paused, but other areas of the hospital remain unaffected.
The Hospital is monitoring the situation with NHH’s infection prevention and control team and contact precautions are in place like use of PPE, changes to communal dining and enhanced cleaning and hand hygiene practices.
Family and loved ones of affected patients have been notified and public notices have been placed on all appropriate hospital entrances.
Updates will be provided as new information is available.
